Economic Migration happened by 2 Civilian Revolutions which caused major changes in society. These were; Agricultural Revolution and Industrial Revolution. Agricultural Revolution made farms machinated thus reducing the need of Laborers. These unemployed laborers started doing weird jobs to gain a living like Rat catching and other ridiculous jobs. With the Industrial Revolution these people migrated to Industrialized City’s for their Jobs thus Overcrowding the cities. These Industrialized Cities made factory work a nightmare by making people work over 18 hours for nearly nothing and giving home to nasty diseases with dirty and smelly working conditions. The Industrialized cities had many Pull Factors. These were mostly Job opportunities that the Industrialized cities offered and led many people into cities. When the village people came into a new life, City life, they had no experience of it. People threw their sewage into the street, people working in the factories for 18 hours lacking hygiene thus creating homes for new diseases. The pollution and bad working conditions were a Push factor. The abundance of jobs in Industrialized cities pulled many people in while the people worst affected by its push factors had to stay in to look over their family and to stay alive.

Social change occurred in the Industrial Revolution when the agricultural revolution, which was the time when many new inventions were created that lessened planting and harvesting, caused factory work, which caused city slum dwelling. The agricultural revolution caused factory work because when these new machines were created ,fewer humans were needed to plant and harvest plants. In addition, after all these people were no longer needed in the rural areas, they all moved to the cities, which caused an influx of people, who had no place to live except for nasty, crowded slums. Therefore, due to the surplus of jobs in the cities and lack of jobs in rural areas, economic migration occurred from rural areas to cities.
